🔺 Fire on a ship following impact from an unidentified projectile in the south of Lavan

◾ The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) organization announced that on Friday, 8 Aban, a ship at a distance of 74 kilometers south of Iran’s Lavan Island was targeted by an unidentified projectile.

◾ The projectile hit the ship’s port side, causing a fire, but the crew remained unharmed and no environmental damage was reported.

◾ In this notification, the name, type, flag, and owner of the ship were not mentioned, and only the word “vessel” was used.

◾ Some maritime tracking accounts claimed the ship was a Qatari liquefied natural gas tanker, but this has not been independently confirmed by any official source or by any shipping company.
