⚡Donald Trump, the President of the United States, on the evening of Friday 8 Aban, at an election rally in Daytona Beach, Florida, told the people present: “I want you to remember something very important. America did not start a war with [the Islamic Republic] Iran. [The Islamic Republic] Iran has been waging war against America since 1979 and has killed thousands.”
Mr. Trump referred to the killing of Qassem Soleimani, the former commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, during his first term in office, and said: “During my first term, we took out Soleimani, General Soleimani. He wasn’t a good man. He was the father of roadside bombs.”
By referring to American servicemembers who were injured in roadside bomb attacks, he added: “Across the country you have soldiers who don’t have legs, don’t have hands, and their faces have been destroyed. They are living in hell, and he was the one who did it. We couldn’t let them get away with doing this.”
