🔻Farfords security incident; British-Iranian citizen released on bail

A British-Iranian who had been detained in connection with a security incident near a British military airbase has been released on bail.

The matter has been announced by the counter-terrorism police.

The 25-year-old was detained two days ago in London on suspicion of “preparing terrorist acts.”

Police said the arrest was part of investigations into last week’s incident near the RAF Fairford airbase in the UK, which is where US bombers are based.

Five other men were arrested last Sunday on suspicion of committing offenses related to explosives and terrorism and were then released on bail.

Andy Burnham, the UK prime minister, said that there are “strong indications” that Iran “had a role.” Tehran has strongly condemned any linking of the incident to Iran.
