🔻The U.S. State Department has asked citizens in a new security warning not to travel to Iran under any circumstances, and Americans who are in Iran to leave that country «right now».
In the warning, published on October 8, Americans present in the Middle East were also asked to exercise greater caution given «complex security conditions,» and to be prepared for the possibility of flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions.
The U.S. State Department also warned that conditions for crossing Iran’s land borders may change without prior notice, and asked travelers to monitor flight status and airport activity directly.
The statement also refers to Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and says that these clashes could escalate quickly.
The U.S. State Department said that Iran and groups supported by Tehran may target U.S. interests or places connected to the United States and American citizens in different parts of the world.
