🔻Elizabeth Warren, Democratic U.S. Congress senator, called Donald Trump the «most corrupt president in U.S. history» and claimed that major oil companies aligned with him have made large profits from the war with Iran.
At an election rally supporting one of the Democratic senators from the U.S. state of Massachusetts, Ms. Warren said: «The question is what should we do about this situation? When Donald Trump starts a war with Iran and his oil friends—who have contributed one million dollars to his election campaign—make huge profits from this war, our duty is to expose this and stand up against it. That’s what we’re doing.»
Without naming any specific company, Ms. Warren claimed that large oil companies have been earning «astronomical» profits since the beginning of the war with Iran. At the same time, analysts have drawn attention in recent months to rising oil prices and some unexpected gains in the energy and transportation sectors, although this alone is not proof of the senator’s claim of a direct link to election contributions.
