🔻Egypt’s president warns of intensifying regional tensions after a drone attack on this country

Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, president of Egypt, after a drone attack on the Damietta port in this country, warned against the “escalation” of regional tensions.

In a telephone call with Pedro Sanchez, prime minister of Spain, Mr. el-Sisi emphasized the need for cooperation between Egypt, Spain, Europe, and the international community to prevent tensions from escalating.

The Egyptian government said that yesterday’s fire at the Damietta port was caused by a drone attack. This is the first drone attack against Egypt since the start of the war in the Middle East.

Egyptian officials said that in Wednesday’s fire, two gas-carrying vessels were damaged.
