🔻Video of the beating of several women in Iran during an Instagram livestream circulates has triggered a wave of reactions on social media.

According to Mehr News Agency, affiliated with Iran’s judiciary, after the Instagram Live video was published, a case was opened for this person by order of a judicial official.

Saeed Raasti, deputy of the “Fight Against Wickedness and Violent Crimes” unit of the police, said the video prompted a broad reaction among citizens and that information sent by people played a role in identifying the suspect. Mr. Raasti added that this individual was identified in central Tehran in the early hours of Thursday, 8 Mordad 1405, “in an operation,” and that “due to resistance against the officers,” two bullets were fired at his legs and one bullet at his hand, and that he was subsequently arrested.

At the same time, videos of this person after his arrest have been shared on social media, showing him in a medical facility. In one of these videos, he apologizes in the presence of the police to the women seen in the beating video, as well as to citizens and the police.
