🔻 Revolutionary Guard: Strait of Hormuz cannot be reopened while there is a U.S. threat

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, in a statement, said that “the Strait of Hormuz cannot be reopened as long as there are the excessive remarks and threats of U.S. officials and their involvement in movements at sea in the region.”

According to the state news agency IRNA, the military force said: “Threats and interventions will make conditions harder and more complex.”

In the statement, without naming any country, it was also said: “Countries that interfere in helping the aggressor, if they do not correct their conduct, will receive a harsh response.”

In the IRGC statement, it was said that two oil tankers last night “intended to leave the unsafe route in the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz, but after a severe fire broke out on one of them, both vessels returned backward at speed.”

Yesterday, CENTCOM had said that the IRGC “has no authority to determine the route of ships in the Strait of Hormuz.”
