🔸Alireza Sepahi suffered a stroke before his execution and was taken to a hospital
Alireza Sepahi, one of the detainees in the case of those arrested during the protests in Dey in Isfahan, who was due to be executed at dawn yesterday (10 Mordad), suffered a stroke before being transferred to the place of execution and was taken to a hospital.
The day before, the execution sentences of Abolfazl Sepahi Bargejany and Amir Hossein Safary Hosein Abadi, two other detainees from the protests of 18 and 19 Dey 1405 in Isfahan, were carried out. Abolfazl Sepahi was Alireza’s cousin.
The charges on the basis of which the court issued the verdict of qisas and execution are described under the headings of “moharebeh,” “efsad-e fel-arz” (corruption on earth), and “participation in murder,” attributed to one of the security–law enforcement forces during the unrest in Isfahan.
Some news reports and human-rights accounts indicate that despite Alireza Sepahi being hospitalized and in a poor physical condition, security forces were actively present at the hospital, and his family has been faced with severe restrictions on visits and on obtaining accurate information about his medical condition.
