Donald Trump, the President of the United States, reposted a conversation between Scott Bessent, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, and the Newsmax network on Truth Social, emphasizing his government’s plan to intensify economic pressure on the Islamic Republic and bring “Iran’s economic isolation to an unprecedented level.”

In the interview, Bessent said he would announce new steps against the Islamic Republic next week. He added that Washington intends to implement a policy that includes severe economic isolation of the Islamic Republic and continued blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Scott Bessent, this blockade prevents the entry of any goods into Iranian ports or the export of goods from those ports.
