🔸Donald Trump, the president of the United States, said on Monday in a conversation with reporters that the United States has cleared the Strait of Hormuz of mines and that this waterway is now open.

🔸Speaking about the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, he said: “As you’ve probably heard, we cleared the entire strait of mines. Maybe you haven’t heard that. We have 100 percent control over the strait.”

🔸In response to another question about when this waterway will reopen, the U.S. president emphasized: “It is open right now. The only force that has control of the Strait of Hormuz is the U.S. Navy.”

🔸Trump, referring to the imposition of a naval blockade against Iran, added that only the United States decides which ships enter the waterway or leave it.

🔸After the start of the 40-day war in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran closed the strait and installed sea mines in part of it. Based on the Islamabad agreement signed in Khordad, Tehran had agreed to begin clearing mines from the strait within 30 days.
