Donald Trump on Thursday, Mehr 9, in response to reporters about the Fly Dubai aircraft incident and the possibility of the Islamic Republic’s role in it, said: “Based on what I’m hearing, I can say that it’s a positive answer, but we are currently investigating it.”
He was then asked whether the pilot of the Fly Dubai flight could have been placed on board by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps or otherwise pushed to act excessively, and then attempted to shoot down the plane. Trump replied: “It may be, yes.”
When asked whether, if the Islamic Republic had played a role in this incident, the United States would retaliate, Trump said: “They will be hit very hard. Don’t worry.”
Regarding Iran’s nuclear program, he said: “I can say that 100 percent of people, including across the world, say that Iran should not have nuclear weapons.”
Trump added about negotiations with the Islamic Republic: “Now I have to make a decision; either Iran signs the agreement, or there won’t be any more.”
He also, in response to a question about the Islamic Republic’s proxy groups, including Hezbollah, said: “As Iran goes forward, proxy groups also go forward.”
