Donald Trump announced a “historic peace delegation” agreement to disarm Hamas
🔸 Donald Trump, the U.S. president, said that a “peace delegation” had reached an agreement to disarm the Hamas group and other armed groups in Gaza, and wrote: “Under this agreement, Gaza will finally be placed in the hands of a new Palestinian state so that it can serve its people.”
🔸 On Thursday evening, the 8th of Mordad, Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social: “This agreement is a vital step toward Gaza finally being under the administration of a new Palestinian state; a state that will work closely with the peace delegation to help the Palestinian people.”
🔸 The U.S. president called the agreement historic and described it as a “great step toward peace and lasting security.”
🔸 Since the ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza was established through Donald Trump’s mediation, an entity called the “peace delegation” has been formed to pursue the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and administer Gaza.
🔸 The extremist group Hamas is listed as a terrorist organization by the European Union and the United States.
🔸 The group’s officials, with confirmation of this agreement, told Agence France-Presse that a committee established by Trump’s peace delegation for the administration of Gaza will oversee the process of stockpiling Hamas weapons.
