🔻CNN says it was barred from accompanying Donald Trump, the U.S. president, on his trip to the state of Tennessee on Saturday in the special aircraft “Air Force One”.

This is the latest development in the standoff between the White House and the media. Previously, the White House had been forced, by order of a federal judge, to lift restrictions imposed on some news outlets.

CNN was scheduled to be present, along with several other media organizations, on Mr. Trump’s trip to Tennessee to watch a college American football game, but in a note published by the White House on Friday evening, the name of this network was not included on the media itinerary list for the trip.

The BBC contacted the White House to request an explanation about this matter.

CNN has reported that in the president’s initial schedule, no other media outlet was named as a replacement for this network.

Last week, Mr. Trump barred CNN, Politico, and MSNBC journalists from entering the White House and accused them of “fabricating” stories about his administration or writing “lies.”

All three outlets said they would take legal action to defend their rights and accused Donald Trump.
