Cambiz Tavana, a member of Iran International’s editorial board, referring to Donald Trump’s emphasis that the Islamic Republic will never obtain nuclear weapons and that the war will end “soon,” said that Trump considers preventing the Islamic Republic from acquiring nuclear weapons a victory and describes the increase in fuel prices as a cost for achieving this goal.
He added that Trump has not explained what he means by the early end of the war, but given his upcoming meetings on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, it may become clear in the coming days whether the path is moving toward a deal or toward increasing pressure on the Islamic Republic.
