TaraNeh Rahimi’s cousin, who has been sentenced to death in connection with alleged participation in the protests of Dey, told Iran International that she has trouble walking.

He said that although the prison doctor has stated that she urgently needs an MRI, authorities have prevented her transfer to a hospital for treatment.

TaraNeh Rahimi, 20, is being held in Adelad State Prison in Isfahan, together with Romina, her twin sister.

Masoud NorMohammadi, their cousin, told the British-language Iran International podcast that TaraNeh’s physical condition has worsened and that her lawyers are trying to appeal her death sentence as soon as possible.

NorMohammadi said: “TaraNeh couldn’t walk. The doctor has said her treatment is urgent, but prison officials did not allow TaraNeh to be transferred to a hospital for treatment.

He said TaraNeh’s family also bought medical equipment and medicine for her and took them to the prison, but officials did not allow those items to reach her.

These statements come a few days after NorMohammadi told Iran International that prison officials had refused to give food to TaraNeh, and that she was forced to use leftover food from other prisoners.”
