🔸Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil, on Monday, 4 Aban, was once again introduced by the country’s Workers’ Party as the winner of the presidential election.

🔸Against Flávio Bolsonaro, his election rival and the son of Jair Bolsonaro, the former president from the far-right wing, who says he does not accept defeat in the election.

🔸This is the fourth non-consecutive time that the leftist Da Silva—who turns 81 on Tuesday of this week—has been elected as president of Brazil.

🔸Now, with Da Silva’s victory, Brazil—exceptionally among other Latin American countries, from Argentina and Chile to Peru and Colombia—has become one of the countries that, in recent years, have experienced a wave of conservatism and right-wing politics, all with support from Donald Trump, the U.S. president.

🔸Following the announcement of the election results, Flávio Bolsonaro, 45, in a brief speech in Brasília, the capital, which he delivered among his supporters, said: “These results cannot be accepted. I will demand that these elections be annulled.”
