🔶 Ban on Iranian aircraft from entering Turkey, Iraq and Georgia

Following a U.S. Treasury Secretary’s announcement about a ban on Iranian airline companies operating globally in the coming days, Iraq and Georgia, after Turkey, also announced that entry by Iranian airline companies into these countries will be banned.

Two Iraqi government sources told AFP on Monday, September 21 (Shahrivar 30), that Baghdad will suspend flights by Iranian airline companies following the U.S. Treasury Department’s announcement.

An Iraqi official source told AFP that Iraq “will implement the ban on the activities of Iranian airline companies in accordance with the U.S. Treasury Department’s decision as of Tuesday (September 22).” He added that countries that do not apply this decision face the risk of being sanctioned by the United States.
