🔸Attack on two oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz area; two crew members injured

According to a report by “Sea-Trade Maritime,” at the same time as the United States’ claim about an increase in the passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, two more oil tankers in this waterway and near it were targeted.

In this regard, the UK Maritime Trade Operations Centre, “UKMTO,” announced that an oil tanker that was entering the Strait of Hormuz was hit on September 21 (30 Shahrivar) by an unidentified projectile.

Based on this report, two crew members sustained superficial injuries, and the ship was able, under its own power, to continue its route toward its next port. So far, no report of environmental pollution has been released.

Regarding the second case, Indian media reported that the liquefied petroleum gas tanker “Al Maryah” with the Liberian flag was targeted in a drone attack outside the Strait of Hormuz on September 20 (29 Shahrivar).

Citing Indian maritime officials, the vessel did not suffer serious damage and berthed safely in Khorfakkan. All 19 crew members, including 9 Indian citizens, were reported to be unharmed.

According to data from “Pole Star Global,” the beneficial owner and operator of the “Al Maryah” tanker is the Emirati company “ADNOC L&S.”
