🔻Reuters, citing three sources linked to the Dakar Rally, reported that the Dakar Rally will return to Africa for its 49th edition due to conditions in the Middle East and, in particular, the situation in Saudi Arabia, where the event has been held since 2020.

🔹According to these sources, which include two drivers and a team manager, the race will begin with a qualifying stage in Europe (Spain or Portugal), and then be moved to Morocco to continue the competition. The race is expected to have around 12 stages.

🔹The Dakar Rally is scheduled to take place from January 9 to 22, 2027 (19 Dey to 2 Bahman 1405). The Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO), the competition’s organizer, as well as the International Automobile Federation and the International Motorcycling Federation, have not yet responded to the matter.

🔹Middle East conditions and the escalation of clashes between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis in Yemen—who are supported by the Islamic Republic—have forced organizers to change their plans. The Houthis have increased attacks on Saudi cities, airports, and energy infrastructure.
