Asiyeh Amini, a social activist, said that depriving female political prisoners of contact with their families, visits, medication, and books is part of the additional pressure that the Islamic Republic imposes on them and their families.

She added that female political prisoners are facing greater anger and retaliation from the government due to their leading role in social and political movements. According to Amini, the Islamic Republic uses women’s gender position, including the role of motherhood and family responsibilities, as a tool for punishing them more.
