Pete Hegseth, the U.S. secretary of war, said that if the Islamic Republic does not make the “right choice,” Donald Trump, the U.S. president, will have all necessary options regarding Iran on the table.

Hegseth said preventing the Islamic Republic from obtaining nuclear weapons is in the vital interests of the United States, and Washington will do “whatever is necessary” to achieve this goal.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, he said the Islamic Republic does not have control of this waterway, and the United States can continue the blockade for as long as it is necessary and, if needed, change it.

In response to a question about the possibility of resolving the war with Iran through military means, Hegseth said this conflict can be resolved in different ways, and Donald Trump has provided the Islamic Republic with all possible opportunities to resolve the issue at the negotiating table.
