An Israeli source briefed in an interview with Iran International described the meeting between Donald Trump, the President of the United States, and Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, as “very good and useful” and said the two sides reached an understanding on the point that the Islamic Republic should not obtain nuclear weapons.

The source said that the two leaders have friendly relations with each other and make decisions together. According to him, the meeting was successful because the two sides agreed on their shared goal.

The source added that there is no disagreement over the goal, but there are different views about the way to achieve it. He said: “Israel is not taking America toward war. We are not telling the U.S. president what to do.”

The source also emphasized that Donald Trump is well aware of Benjamin Netanyahu’s policy on freeing the Iranian people from the rule of the Islamic Republic government, and there was no need to raise the issue again during the meeting. According to him, the main focus of the talks was the nuclear issue.

In conclusion, the source said: “We certainly want to destroy this regime.”
