🔸An American official and maritime security sources said that a container ship flying the Panamanian flag was targeted in the Sea of Oman; an American official says the ship did not heed warnings to stop and was trying to break the maritime blockade of Iran’s ports.

🔸Reuters reported on Tuesday, 20 Mordad, that the British risk management group “Vanguard” and a maritime security source, based on initial assessments, said the container ship “Vela Nova” was targeted while sailing in the Sea of Oman.

🔸Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal, citing an American official, reported that a U.S. military helicopter fired at the steering of the ship after the crew ignored warnings from forces tasked with enforcing the blockade of Iran’s ports.

🔸According to the report, no report has yet been published on possible casualties, and the ship’s crew, after the apparent attack, tried to transfer to another civilian vessel.
