Amir Mansheh, a Middle East affairs expert, said Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent positions regarding the overthrow of the Islamic Republic, in addition to an election dimension, indicate a shift in Israel’s security approach. According to him, Donald Trump’s support and Israel’s assessment that the Islamic Republic should be weakened have pushed Netanyahu to pursue this goal more seriously.

Amir added that Israel does not intend to carry out a ground attack on Iran, and if a new war begins, it will likely focus on airstrikes against military centers and on suppressing the government. He also said that the military threats of the United States and Israel could be a tool for pressure in negotiations, but in his view these negotiations will not reach a result.
