Amir Giti, a member of Iran International’s editorial team, said the Islamic Republic, despite contradictory positions about war and negotiations, wants to continue talks with the United States and is trying to send its messages to Washington through intermediaries such as Qatar, Pakistan, and Turkey.

He added that the main problem is that Masoud Pezeshkian and the Islamic Republic’s foreign minister are not the final decision-makers in cases such as the Strait of Hormuz, and for that reason, confidence in the Iranian delegation’s ability to implement any agreement is met with skepticism.
