🔸 Amir Mahdi Alavi, the spokesperson of the Football Federation, after the end of the meeting on Wednesday of the federation’s executive board regarding the continuation of cooperation with Amir Ghalenoei, the head coach of the Iran national football team, said: “The contract of the national team coach, until the end of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia, has been extended by a decision of the federation’s executive board.”

🔸 Based on the schedule announced, the Iran national football team at the AFC Asian Cup will, in the first stage on the 19th, 23rd, and 28th of Dey, respectively, play against China, Kyrgyzstan, and Syria.

🔸 The extension of Amir Ghalenoei’s contract took place while many experts had criticized his performance with the national team during the 2026 World Cup.
