🔸A question by a TV presenter from IRIB to the CEO of the Dairy Cooperatives Union has sparked reactions from users of social media.
🔸During a discussion about the increase in the prices of dairy products recently broadcast on Tehran TV, the host of the program Tehran Twenty, referring to the rise in the price of milk, asks his guest: “Cows don’t eat dollars, so why does the price of dollar-priced milk go up?”
🔸The CEO of the Dairy Cooperatives Union responds: “They do, in fact, eat dollars.” He then explains that the production costs and inputs used in livestock farming are affected by the exchange rate.
🔸On Wednesday, 8 Mehr, the Iranian Statistics Center announced in its latest report that the point-to-point inflation rate in Shahrivar reached 89.8%, showing an increase of 0.8% compared to the previous month.
🔸The downward trend in the value of Iran’s national currency continued on Saturday, 11 Mehr, and the price of the U.S. dollar in the free market, for the first time, crossed the 270,000 toman mark.
