🔸The images recently shared on social media show rap artists supporting the Iranian government who are busy performing at nighttime gatherings.

🔸One of them is Sina Abgoun, who is referred to as an “revolutionary rapper.”

🔸At nighttime gatherings of supporters of the Islamic Republic, he swagger-talks in language approved by the government for the countries in the region, and a group of attendees also accompanies him.

🔸This rapper is present at nighttime gatherings while, in recent years, several rap singers have been tried and handed down heavy sentences for producing protest works and for their support of popular movements.

🔸Toomaj Salehi is one of the main symbols of protest rap in Iran, who was arrested and tried due to his revealing songs and his presence in nationwide protests.

🔸Vafa Ahmadpour, known as “Vefadar,” is another of the rappers who protest inside Iran, who was imprisoned and banned from work for publishing political songs and for artistic activities against the government’s policies.

🔸At present as well, a number of rap singers are in prison for their support of the protests of the previous December.
