🔶 Ukraine rejects claim about deploying thousands of drones in Iraq’s Kurdistan region
The Ukrainian embassy in Iraq rejected the allegation raised in Iranian media about the deployment of a drone unit and thousands of Ukrainian drones in Iraq’s Kurdistan region, calling it “deliberately inaccurate information.”
In a statement on Wednesday, October 21 (October 30 Mehr), the embassy said: “Ukraine has not deployed any drones, any drone unit, or any related force in the Kurdistan region or anywhere else in Iraq.”
The reaction came after Tasnim News Agency on Tuesday, citing an unnamed security source, claimed that “Ukraine has created a drone unit and deployed thousands of drones in Iraq’s Kurdistan region.”
The Ukrainian embassy also emphasized Kyiv’s full respect for Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and described its relations with the Iraqi federal government and the Kurdistan regional government as “friendly.”
The embassy asked media outlets to verify such claims before publishing them and to refrain from reposting unconfirmed reports.
