Women supporters of Abadan Oil Industry, on Saturday 24 Mordad, went to the Takhti Stadium in Abadan to watch this team’s first match after its return to the top league and cheered on their favorite team.

In the first week of the top league, Abadan hosted Malavan Bandar Anzali, and the match ended in a one–one draw.

Abadan is one of the cities that has issued permits for women to attend football matches at the stadium since last year.

The presence of women in Iranian stadiums, despite the removal of some restrictions, still faces opposition from a number of officials and religious figures of the Islamic Republic.
