Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, released a congratulatory message from Donald Trump, the President of the United States, on the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s restoration of independence, and in response, he raised a request for Patriot intercepting missiles.

Zelensky wrote: “These words are very much like the sound of a Patriot PAC-3 firing, boosting our morale and giving hope that lives can be protected from Russia’s savage attacks and that a dignified peace can be achieved.”

He added: “Thank you, President Trump, and all Americans, for your support and congratulations.”

In that letter, Mr. Trump wrote: “Dear Mr. President, on behalf of the American people, I congratulate you and the citizens of Ukraine on your Independence Day.”

At the end of the message, Mr. Trump wrote: “Let’s seize this moment to end this conflict and build a durable, enduring peace that will free Ukraine’s immense capacity for future generations.”
