Voliollah Bayati, spokesperson for the Parliamentary Commission on Domestic Affairs and Councils, said that the details of the bill titled “Strategic Action to Ensure Sustainable Security for the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf” were reviewed in an afternoon session on Monday, 19 Mordad, with the presence of representatives from the government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Staff of the Armed Forces, relevant executive officials, and experts from the Parliament Research Center.

According to a report by ISNA news agency, Bayati said that after the generalities of this bill were approved in the previous session, the commission members reviewed its five articles, and following discussion and exchange of views, all five articles were approved.

He added that one of the most important provisions approved was a ban on the transit of facilities and equipment owned by the United States, Israel, and “hostile countries” through the Strait of Hormuz.

Bayati said that this ban was approved because these countries have carried out hostile actions and attacks against Iran using the Strait of Hormuz.

The spokesperson for the commission on domestic affairs of the Parliament added that, given that only five articles of the bill were reviewed and approved, the review of its other articles was postponed to future sessions.
