A virtual meeting between Prince Reza Pahlavi and representatives and senior senators of the “Australia coalition” has been accompanied by the support of a number of members of this coalition.

Andrew Berg, a senator and Minister of the Environment in Australia’s shadow government, in an exclusive interview with Iran International, called the Islamic Republic “one of the worst regimes in the world” and said that engaging with Prince Reza Pahlavi for talks about the transition period and the establishment of a new government in Iran is important.

Jessica Collins, a senator and chair of the committee on foreign affairs, defense, and trade of the Australian Senate, described Prince Reza Pahlavi as “an important symbol of opposition to the government and support for democracy.”

Julian Leeser, the Minister of Education in Australia’s shadow government, also said that the coalition has invited Prince Reza Pahlavi to travel to Australia in order to hear his views on developments and the future of Iran.

Dio Sharma, a federal senator and member of Australia’s shadow government, called Prince Reza Pahlavi “an important and influential voice” in political discussions related to Iran and said: “We want peaceful political change in Iran.” He added that Prince Reza Pahlavi will play a “major” role in any transition period.
