🔻U.S. Treasury Secretary warns “those who continue to support Iran”

Scott Bessent, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, after announcing new sanctions against “a large criminal network,” warned those who “continue to support the Iranian regime.”

The United States has said this “criminal network” is one that helps Iran’s “shadow fleet” of oil tankers.

Mr. Bessent said that these new sanctions are part of Iran’s “economic isolation operations.”

The sweeping U.S. sanctions, which have intensified in recent months, are a campaign of economic pressure by the United States against Iran, targeting the country’s financial interests around the world.
