👈 U.S. Senate vote on Trump-Saudi nuclear deal postponed

American senators announced that a vote on the civilian nuclear cooperation agreement between the administration of Donald Trump and Saudi Arabia will be held after the midterm elections and, at the latest, by December 13.

The decision was made following concerns expressed by some lawmakers—especially Democrats—about the risks of nuclear weapons proliferation and the likelihood of an arms race in the Middle East.

The vote will allow Congress to examine the consequences of transferring U.S. nuclear technologies to Saudi Arabia and to issue its official position.
