🔸The foreign ministers of Turkey and France, at a meeting of eight European and regional countries in Istanbul, warned about the consequences of a renewed military attack on Iran and stressed the need to resolve the crisis through diplomacy.

🔸Hakan Fidan, the Turkish foreign minister, also said after the meeting that the participating countries agree that any new attack on Iran would expand the war in the region.

🔸He added: “Military intervention in Iran is by no means a solution, and no one supports it at present.”

🔸The Turkish foreign minister said diplomacy and dialogue are the only way to end the war, and the participants in the Istanbul meeting also discussed ways to prevent further escalation of hostilities.

🔸Jean-Noël Barrot, France’s foreign minister, also warned that the renewed escalation of conflict between Iran and the United States “will have no winners” and will likely bring very serious consequences for oil prices and other energy carriers.

🔸He said the eight participating countries called for the maximum restraint by both sides, because the region cannot withstand another escalation of the conflict.
