🔻Turkey declares readiness to sign an agreement with Egypt regarding the demarcation of maritime borders.
Yesterday, Turkey’s Ministry of National Defence announced that the country is ready to sign, based on mutual interests, an agreement “for the determination of the limits of maritime borders” with Egypt.
In a statement, the ministry said that this possible agreement could add more than 15,000 square kilometers to waters under Egypt’s control.
Turkey’s Ministry of National Defence also emphasized that, while contributing to peace, security and regional stability, the country will continue to defend its rights and legitimate interests in the eastern Mediterranean within the framework of international law.
The ministry also reported that a joint naval exercise with Egypt, named “Friendship Sea 2026,” is planned to be held from November 4 to 9 in Alexandria, Egypt, with the participation of units and personnel of the Turkish and Egyptian navies. 📷Anadolu via Getty
