🔸 Trump’s $3 Billion Investment to Strengthen the Defense Supply Chain in Mining Projects
The U.S. government will invest $3 billion in projects related to critical mineral materials and batteries. Donald Trump, the U.S. president, announced on Friday, August 7 (16 Mordad), that this move is part of an effort to increase domestic production and strengthen national security and industrial policy in the country.
Speaking at a meeting at the U.S. Department of State attended by more than 200 mining industry executives, professors, investors, and policymakers, Trump said that this industry in recent years had not received sufficient attention from the government, adding: “We are reclaiming America’s rightful place as the world’s mining superpower.”
In his remarks, Trump referred to a range of investments, including a conditional $1.4 billion loan from the Strategic Capital Office of the U.S. Department of Defense to the company “Cela Nanotechnology(s),” which produces components for lithium-ion battery cells.
