Donald Trump, as voting began for midterm elections, repeatedly supported the Lincoln memorial reflecting pool renovation project on the social media platform Truth.

The project was also at the center of Mr. Trump’s speech yesterday in Washington.

In the past hour, the U.S. president has posted twice about renovating the pool.

In one of these posts, he criticized the Daily Mail for its coverage of his latest midterm event yesterday, which he called a “speech” rather than a “press conference.”

In the second post, Mr. Trump accused Ted Lieu, the Democratic representative from California, of publishing “malicious, false and defamatory” statements.

According to Mr. Trump, Ted Lieu accused him of wanting to change the name of the pool to “Trump.”

Many observers have raised the question of what value such statements have?
