🔶 Trump: A new round of negotiations with Iran will begin on Monday

Donald Trump, the US president, said in a conversation with reporters aboard the presidential aircraft on Sunday evening, August 2 (11 Mordad), that a new round of talks with the Islamic Republic will be held on the afternoon of Monday, August 3, but he declined to set a deadline for reaching an agreement. He also did not specify where the talks would take place, how long they would last, or who would participate in them.

Trump again emphasized that the US army, at the last moment, canceled its plan to carry out a new wave of attacks against the Islamic Republic after requests from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, as well as Iran. He claimed: “This planned attack would have been the biggest since World War II, and it would have been disastrous for them.”

Trump added that after his US allies told him that reaching an agreement with Iran appears to be close, he ordered the cancellation of these attacks. The US president noted that Iran had also said it was willing to reach an agreement.
