The Islamic Republic’s deputy head of the judiciary warned that neglect in the economic sphere could lead to dissatisfaction and then to a crisis.

Hamzeh Khalili said: “If we fall short and are inattentive in the economic sphere, it may create dissatisfaction and, in the next stage, this dissatisfaction could turn into a crisis.”

Khalili described the economy as “one of the most important arenas for preventing social and security harms.”

The warning comes after the Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, raised the possibility of a resumption of street protests in an article and asked mosques and Basij bases to get prepared to respond.
