The Director of Strategic Communications at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that all trade and financial transactions with the Islamic Republic have been completely stopped.
Afra Al-Hamīli rejected claims about economic ties between the UAE and the Islamic Republic of Iran and said, “Given the intensification of regional tensions that threaten regional and international peace and security, all commercial exchanges, business activities, and financial transactions with Iran are suspended until further notice.”
Since the start of the Islamic Republic’s extensive attacks on this country and the closing of the Strait of Hormuz by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the UAE has cut off trade relations with Iran.
In July this year, Seyed Mohammad Sadegh Kanadzadeh, deputy for trade services at Iran’s Trade Development Organization, had claimed the reactivation of trade relations between Iran and the UAE via Jebel Ali port, as one of the most important ports in the south of the Persian Gulf.
