🔺 The views of Maryam Tafvaki, Mohsen Amiryousefi, and others at the London festival: Voices from Iran
▪Mohsen Amiryousefi’s video message to the London Film Festival, which was broadcast on Wednesday, 22 Mehr, during the premiere screening of his latest film “The Curse of Seizure” for the audience at the Curzon Soho Hall, came to the attention of Iranian viewers above all for this reason: this independent filmmaker dedicated his film’s opening screening to the “martyrs of the massacre of Dey.” He did not speak in the fashion of “one for the horses and one for the nails,” that is, for example, he did not adjust the number of fatalities according to the account of the Islamic Republic government, and he stated plainly that “thousands of people from my country lost their lives during the two bitter nights of the protests in Dey 1404.” He did not let stand the kind of suspicion close to regime propaganda and the claim that “people were shot by foreigners and elements of America and Israel,” and in the way favored by the authorities, he also did not link the reference to war and portraying the government as wronged to the suffering of the oppressed people of Iran.
