The Syrian Internal Security Directorate announced that its forces had discovered a number of Grad rockets that had been hidden in the village of Al-Harah in Daraa province in the south of the country. The village is about 12 kilometers from the Israeli border.

In a statement published on Monday evening, the directorate did not name the person responsible for hiding the rockets.

Based on the statement, security forces went to the location and carried out “the necessary measures to ensure the safety of residents.”

Israeli forces have taken control of areas in southern Syria since the fall of Bashar al-Assad in December 2024, and Damascus has called for their withdrawal and a return to the 1974 disengagement agreement.

Ahmed al-Sharaa, the President of Syria, has recently said that Damascus has no desire to engage in a conflict with Israel.
