🔻Spokesman for the Parliament’s Energy Commission: Because of the increase in gas shortfall, gas and power will be cut in industries by the end of the year

The spokesman for the Parliament’s Energy Commission announced an “increase of 130 million cubic meters per day” in the gas imbalance compared to the previous year, and said that, considering the worsening gas deficit, there is a possibility of gas supply cuts for some industries in the winter season.

Reza Sepahvand, referring to Energy Commission meetings with the oil and power ministers, said that damage to a number of phases of South Pars and gas refineries as a result of attacks by the United States and Israel has increased the daily imbalance compared to the previous year.

According to him, to make up for the lack of gas, the use of liquid fuels—including diesel and fuel oil—has been put on the agenda, and in this regard, so far “more than 3.5 billion cubic meters” of diesel and fuel oil have been stockpiled to replace gas consumed by power plants.

The spokesman for the Parliament’s Energy Commission also added that, because this year’s imbalance is greater than last year’s, the cutting of gas and electricity in the industrial sector will continue until the end of the year.
