Scott Bessent, U.S. Treasury Secretary, said in an interview with Newsmax that the United Arab Emirates and Oman are cooperating with Washington in implementing the campaign of “complete isolation,” and that the U.S. government is consulting with Pakistan and Turkey to close the land routes for entry into and exit from Iran.

He added that the Donald Trump administration has turned its “maximum pressure” campaign against the Islamic Republic into a campaign of “complete isolation.” According to him, this policy, in addition to financial restrictions, also covers the sea, air, and land routes that connect Iran to the rest of the world.

The U.S. Treasury secretary said that a naval blockade and U.S. military actions are being carried out with the aim of fully stopping Iran’s oil exports, and that flight restrictions are also being imposed to prevent travel by officials of the Islamic Republic and people close to the government.
