Scott Bessent, U.S. Treasury Secretary, said in an interview with CNBC that the United States and the Islamic Republic may reach an agreement on reopening the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, 14 Mordad.
The U.S. Treasury Secretary said: “An agreement on the Strait of Hormuz could be reached on Tuesday or Wednesday.” He added that several ships are already seen leaving the strait.
The U.S. Treasury Secretary expressed hope that by reducing concerns about the Strait of Hormuz, energy prices would fall and the markets would react positively.
He also said that lower prices may lead to a large wave of transactions triggered by the easing of concerns.
