Saudi Arabia’s state oil company Aramco increased its profit in the second quarter of the current year by 33%, while the company’s product output during the same period fell by 28%.
Based on a Bloomberg report, adjusted net income for Aramco reached $33.4 billion, compared to $25.2 billion a year earlier. The figure beat analysts’ prior forecast of $31.1 billion.
Bloomberg wrote that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz has accounted for the biggest disruption to oil supply in history, and Aramco, to maintain exports, moved more cargoes to the Red Sea.
According to the company’s statement, by the end of the quarter, no significant impact from attacks during the war period on the company’s facilities had been recorded on its results or operations.
Bloomberg wrote that Aramco is now facing fresh risk, because Yemen’s Houthis have threatened to target oil tankers using this route.
