Saudi Arabia’s General Intelligence chief, during a trip to Baghdad, conveyed a message from the leadership of his country to the Prime Minister of Iraq, in which the previous invitation to travel to Riyadh was renewed.

According to a statement from the Iraqi prime minister’s office, Khalid bin Ali al-Humaidan met with Ali Faleh al-Zaydi on Friday.

Al-Zaydi was scheduled to travel to Riyadh in late Tir, but the trip was canceled after joint attacks by the United States and Saudi Arabia on Iran-backed militias in Iraq. In these attacks, carried out on 7 Mordad, 20 personnel from Iraqi armed groups were killed, which reports said included five Iranians.
